Where there is no “standard poly” as one might say, there are over a hundred possible variations on polyethylene resins that can be used. Each is engineered for a different end use. Low-density polyethylene(LDPE) sometimes referred to as conventional polyethylene has been around since its discovery in the 1930s.
Some of the most common forms are: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Medium Density polyethylene (MDPE), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Ultra Low Density Polyethylene (ULDPE), Metallocene, Fractional Melt, and Very Low Density Polyethylene (VLDPE).
With so many potential variations of Polyethylene film we can work with you to define your options for your next project, all while giving you the option of having us hold Inventory for you. Below are some of our offerings and where they are commonly used. Please contact us for just a quick question or to discuss your new project - we are listening!!

A good clarity film, that is soft and low barrier. Least expensive of all the polymere packaging films. This film can be altered by blending other polymers/additives such as: EVA, color pigments, black carbon. It is characterized by its toughness and flexibility, low heat resistance, low-temperature impact resistance and transparency. At room temperatures, is in insoluble in most organic solvents but is attached by strong oxidizing acids. LDPE is softer, more flexible and melts at lower temperatures than HDPE. The use of LDPE allows for the use of designing products as thin as .3 mils to very thick of 30 mils. Some of the other ways the film can be produce are the following:
- Shrinkable
- Heat resistant
- Puncture resistant
- Tubular or Single wound
- Colored,
- Conductive Film
- Light weight
- Economical cost
- Flexibility (low modulus)
- Chemical resistance
- Ease of sealability – is easily heat-sealed to itself which permits for several types of sealing equipment applications.

- Flame retardant – additive compounds to render a polymer fire resistant
- Color Pigments – color pigment concentrates that can be added
- Carbon Fillers – high concentration results in conductivity of the film
- UV Stabilizers – added to resist sunlight
- Slip/Anti-block Agents – added to improve film to film slipping and blocking
- Anti-Static – resistance to static buildup
- Silicone coated
- Corona treated
- Blown or Cast: Cast LDPE will have a higher melt temperature then Blown produced LDPE. Cast is able to be produced faster vs. the Blown process.
